The “Erect Metal Scaffold in Marine Industry” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers who are involved in erecting and dismantling marine metal scaffolds in marine industries.

Entry Requirements

    • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 3 and above.
    • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 3 and above.

  • Purpose of a Scaffold
  • Roles and Responsibilities of a Marine Metal Scaffolder
  • Various types or Marine Metal Scaffolds and their uses
  • Definition and Terms used in Scaffolding
  • Common Hand Tools, Equipment and Materials – Use and Care
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Scaffolding Materials
  • Use of correct tools for tightening Couplers, Planks, Tubes and Pipes
  • Precautions working in confined spaces and at height
  • Interpretation of Marine Metal Scaffolding Working Drawings

Qualification or experience of facilitators:

A facilitator and assessor of this course will possess the following:

  1. Registered WSH Officer or OSH practitioner with at least 3 years working experience in the marine industry; and
  2. Possess at least a relevant and recognized diploma or equivalent; and
  3. Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA)
  4. Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health

Certification

Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a certificate of achievement endorsed by Vision Global Engineering & Safety Services Pte Ltd will be issued to all participants.
